Default WAD and WD schematics

I was wondering simply for the convenience of the membership if schematics of circuits from previous kits, and even current ones if Matthew is willing, could be uploaded to a dedicated section on the forum?

It would make things so much easier when looking for a circuit diagram. Maybe a thread in the FAQ section?

Certainly I would be happy to contribute any historical diagrams I have.

Matthew, John, Richard and Colin (and also the rest of the membership).........what do you think?

Greg

I'd be interested in the older stuff.

I wouldn't be too bothered about the current range but then I do have the info to hand for the ones I own. Plus there's the consideration of Matthews business maybe?

There used to be a CDrom with all the articles and circuits in. Maybe that could be resurrected?

Andy.

Yep, Andy, take your points. I'm really coming from the convenience perspective. By example, today I wanted to look at the schematic for my Phono 2. I had to dig out my hard copy or as you suggest, upload the Gold CD. I know the circuit has been published here in several posts, but finding them is not readily easy. If they were readily available on an immediately accessible FAQ thread, it would make things much faster and more convenient IMHO.

I think this is a very good idea, and would like to see all circuit diagram's of all the kits ever produced, now why did I not think of this. BOB

I see where you are coming from Greg.
I guess it would mostly be a matter of downloading the CD ROM into an area of the site?
I hope I'm not being contentious here, please don't take it the wrong way, but as long as it's for circuits that are no longer in production so to speak I see no reason why not, except that Matthew loses a potential income stream?
That said, I don't think the Gold CD ROM is currently available either as a CD or a download? Correct me if I am wrong.

And maybe we could expand the area to include other info and circuits as a central point of reference. Stuff like the classic mullard designs etc?

Make a folder called WAD with a shortcut to it on your desktop and put sub folders into it marked, 5-20, 2A3, Kit88, K5881, 300BppStereo, Phono2, PSU3, Valve Data, etc, etc. Then drop any relevant info into them as you come across it and you soon build up your own library That's how I work as it's much quicker to use on or off line than finding it on a website.

Still, a re-issue of the CD would be great. Perhaps as a payable download?

Oh yes I agree, if Matthew wanted to, a paid-for download or CD would be up to him. I've never had one so can't help there but in the meantime at least we can easily get our own libraries together .

As lot of you may know I run a small business repairing hi fi equipment.
All of the service info/circuitt diagrams etc are kept exactly as Richard has stated in a folder on the desktop. It is easy to do and very quick to access.

Yep I do as Richard with the WAD/WD folder but some of the schematic are just that and lack in some detail others are full manuals

An FAQ Schematics thread would be a good idea and i would support but it would the down to Matthew if he is willing to put the schematic up
