A timley post if every there was one!
You need to either host the pic elsewhere IE Photobucket and embedd a link like this: or upload one with your post... |

Re: valve regulated wad psu
Hi Stuart,
You need to enable the "Standard Editor" or "Enhanced Interface" in user settings; Click "User CP" top left, Click Edit Options, Scroll to bottom, Select and Save Enhanced from the pull down in Message Editor. Then post by using "Post reply" rather than "quick reply". There are 2 ways to post the image, 1) If it is hosted on a website somewhere and you have the address, click the yellow square icon with mountains on it above the reply text box. That lets you enter the picture address and the pic will appear in text. 2) If you don't have it hosted but it is on your computer, under the reply text box scroll down and you'll see "Additional Options". Click "manage attachments", then "browse", find your pic on your computer, select it and click "open", the address should now be in the manage box, click "upload", and it will appear as a thumb when you post. Re: valve regulated wad psu
Hi-i dont know the "proper" answer but i have a way of doing this !
Select your file from "my pictures" or "my documents" Click on the file (highlite it !) Go to the menu on the LH side (i'm on XP) and select " "e-mail this file" You will be asked "make all my pictures smaller"-say YES You then get an e-mail header with the reduced size picture shown as an attachment. Drag this attachment back to the original photo/document,you will be asked if you want to replace the existing picture-say YES. Voila ! ready to send now NB if you want to keep the picture on file with its original resolution this method is no good-unless you copy it and just reduce the copy. Philip

Another option=)
I use "irfanview"- a great little program that can resize pictures etc.... it's also free. http://www.irfanview.com/ |

The easiest way is if you open the pic in Microsoft Photo Editor which is probably your default for viewing .jpg pics anyway and is included in XP. Then from the dropdowns go Image>Resize, leave the boxes unticked, and change the width or height (both are linked when unticked) to the new size you need. (This is linear percentage so 2848 will need to come down approx 35% to 1000). Then go File>Save As and save it with another name ie picSML.jpg. (Don't save it when you close the window or it will overwrite your original to a smaller pic.) Rich |
