Gallery Replacement

The new Photoplog Gallery works differently to the previous one. I have enabled thumbnails in the main forum pages, but to see the full range of uploaded photos by members (once they have added them) you need to click on the Gallery link in the Menu Bar.

When you want to add a picture click the Upload button.

Browse to the image file on your hard drive.

Choose a Category for your picture (please do NOT use the 'no-one' category!).

Enter a short Title.

Enter a description that other forum members will see when they view your picture.

Click the Upload button. That's it!

Are you not seeing the Gallery link in the menu bar? Try refreshing your browser page (hit F5)

For the thumbnail show this only shows on the Forum Home Page (click World Designs Forum folder - top left above the menu bar).

The gallery link works for me, but just out of interest have all the old gallery pictures been lost during the upgrade? I think you said before the old gallery was a bit of a fiddle, as it wasn't part of the forum software?

Yes, sorry about that. I did post on the previous thread that this would happen. Perhaps I should have made more of it!

Hopefully anyone who wants to see their kits and DIY builds in the Gallery will repost them.

There are several advantages to the new gallery. One is that the new Gallery plugin should be supported for future vBulletin upgrades so that we can keep everything intact. The other is that the images are all stored in one folder so that I can easily backup Gallery images.

Furthermore the Category function in the Gallery, plus the new Search function, should enable everyone to find member's pictures more easily.

I guessed that was the case, and now you mention it I do remember it being posted in an earlier thread. Will be interesting to see some new piccy's too!

I've also notice the "Archive" link that hides right at the bottom of the page, maybe it's always been there, and I never venture that far down! But looks like there is lots of easily searchable information there.

Hi, still not there after refresh.
My menu bar reads
user cp,faq,menu bar,members list,new posts,search,quick links,log out.
No sign of Gallery anywhere on my IE.

Have you tried a Google search for the WD website and creating a new link.
Just wondering if you have an old link in your Favourites or whatever.
Mine is working ok. Seems like you are missing the calender as well.

John, I suggest you do the following:

Log out of the forum

Clear all your Temporary Internet Files

Log in making sure you tick the Remember Me box
