Anyone thought of modding a digital storage CD player?
for the sum of £150 Julian Richer over at www.richersounds.com is selling a CD player with a 40GB hard drive in it.
http://ws4.richersounds.com/showprod...pid=ACOU-SP150 If you was to add a decent dac to the output from the hard drive (would it have to be a USB dac???) then could you get round all the issues of jitter and get a decent sounding player? Anyone any ideas?? Paul |

Re: Anyone thought of modding a digital storage CD player?
It's an intriguing idea, a lot cheaper than a mini-mac, I suppose it all hinges on how good the compression is?

The SP150 only has analogue out, no S/PDIF. MP3 only and no FLAC support.
