Just an observation, may be nothing but, this member has been viewing, World-Design-Forum and nothing ells for many days and nights it is as if he has logged on and died, I find this disturbing. Bob as soon as I posted this, he is now gone. and now back again.

"He" is one of the most persistent of the recent spate of Bot-generated forum applicants. I wish I knew how to make him go away - other than ignoring him (which is what I'm doing, although I don't think Bots get bored.)

Yes,

Matthew and I have discussed some of these members and have deleted a few obvious spammers.

From the logged-in Home page, using Quick Links>Who’s Online, we see a few members and around 200 hundred guests.

All of their IP addresses are shown and can be entered into an IP look-up such as,
https://whatismyipaddress.com/ip-lookup

But,

Lots of the Guests are on similar IP addresses. ( "Guests" may not be members are they are just viewing and not logged in.)

What we’d like to know is what these are up to and if it’s costly to Matthew in any way. We understand the benefits of, say, the Google or MSN bot listing details on their sites so we get hits and interest.

If anyone in the industry, or these members themselves, can tell us what they are doing here it would be appreciated.

I'm certain "he" wasn't real. But it didn't stop "him" costing us a great deal of effort.

Yes, he was pushed - but several times more than once. The tinternet is cleverer than I am - and so was "he"!

I've spoken to our hosting service and they're happy that nothing untoward has happened ... or will. Just weird stuff. They didn't understand either. Does anyone know what the motive is - or what advantage might be gained (assuming that wasting my time isn't an advantage)?

I'm happy we're secure and that bandwidth (= cost) was never a problem.
