Default KEL 84 rebuild.

At the sale of WD to Dave Cawley, I was a frequent visitor to Great Gidding, the HQ of WD, and helped with the clear out, much stuff was discarded into a large skip, a KEL 84 amp. was one such item, I asked if I could have it along with many other bits, the KEL had no transformers and a damaged case, the PCB also had track damage, after quite a lot of work, including making the transformer caps from solid aluminium, and stainless steel fixings, the KEL is close to being reassembled, after a lot of fettling to the chassis, and attention to the PCB, I will be posting pictures in about a week. Member, Kyron has expressed a interest in buying this when it is finished, I will give him first refusal, if he says no it will go on the for sale board. BOB

Thank's Jan, I took that option, because of the price the one's Matthew supply's, even he admits that they are very expensive. Just finished making the feet, more pictures to follow. BOB

Thank's chap's, had it playing for 5 hours today, waiting for a blue LED to put in place of the tape monitor switch and it's done, sound's good, but not to the same standard as my WA88. Colin that tape deck is my Nakamichi LX3, and yes it works, use it quite a lot, purchased new in 1980/1 from a dealer in Cambridge, after a demo, it still surprises people who here it. BOB
