Default Fostex FE206e in BIB

Heeelp please ? I have been serching for two weeks for an ENGINEERING solution to putting Fosetx FE206e 8" drivers into a BIB. All I have, after many failed links to the illusive BIB calculator, are some contradictory dimensions.

Can anyone supply this soltuion, i.e.

1) Dimensioned drawing, or just the few crititical dimensions
2) Any details of stuffing required
3) Any detail of method used to effect the V joint between the inetrnal baffle and the front panel.

I'm fine with woodwork, even prepared to takle accoustic theory, but really just want to get on and listen to my music.

Cheers, Bob Wade

I think what Richard is trying to tell you that the Fostex FE206E is NOT SUITED to a BIB type cabinet. It's designed for use in Back Loaded Horns.

Hi Colin, Bob, I might have been if I knew what BIB was! I've no idea what loading BIB has I'm afraid but I saw the note on the bottom of the Fostex cab sheet so mentioned it in case it was applicable

Thanks to Richard and Gregg for amazingly quick responses. Yes I have seen the Fostex sheet on the link and considered this possibility. I have, however, also read a less than enthusiastic critique on the perfoemance.

I noted, also that "Scottmoose" recommended, here, the BIB (half wavelength) design as opposed to Voight pipe.

Thanks again

Your best place for an answer on the suitability of the Fostex FE206E in a BIB would be the Full Range forum pages of DiyAudio. There are lots of folk who have built these speakers post on here, including Scottmoose.

Try reading this from an old thread.

I have a BiB spreadsheet stored on an external drive. If you drop me a PM with your email address I'll send it to you.

Cheers

Brian
