Hi Bob
I hadn't realized their copy’s sent Mathew an email anyway

If you look at the PCB Colin, lower edge centre, you will read LAPTOPS-COMPUTERS and a phone number, the seller may be in breach of copy right because he has entitled the part as WAD. Bob

I noticed that too, Bob. This is where the phone number appears to lead - BOB??

It is not the latest design pcb, so I reckon this guy has reverse engineered an early WAD KEL34. Either way a bit naughty and could cause trouble for him. If Matthew is aware we must await his comments.

Thanks all (I have been away).

No, that's not acceptable. I'll see if I can find out more and let you know the outcome.

A quick update: I contacted the seller who had acquired them at a "front yard" estate sale along with a lot of toroids, components and valve amp/hobbyist stuff from "a gentleman's daughter".

He hadn't known about the copyright problem, but has withdrawn the PCB from sale and agreed to destroy them. Very sympathetic and seems a completely decent chap!

I'd still like to find out how they came to exist (and there may be more out there!) The sale was about a year ago and in Poole.

Ring any bells with anyone?

Thanks, Matthew

Hi Matthew
Yes I saw the seller had withdrawn the PCB from sale the other day when I was on eBay
It’s good that he did that I will keep an eye out for other similar goings-on and let you know if I spot anything
