Default Question re Kat Bush "Aerial"

Do any of you have have bought this on vinyl (and CD for all I know) find that there is a channel imbalance in favour of the right channel?

Ms. Bush and her orchestra seem to want to take up station on the right of my living room! My other albums seem OK.

Thanks

Mark

Got this on CD,and the channel balance seems well nigh perfect,as is the overall recording quality and production...well above the standard of many current mainstream releases.

Also some beautiful fretless bass from Eberhard Weber....

I've got the vinyl edition and haven't noticed any imbalance at all, I find it a very well recorded and mastered album.

Blast!

Sounds as if there is something wrong with my copy!!

There's some noise on the birdsong track as well.

Thanks all.

I read on PFM that some people had pressing faults on side 3. I also note that the release date was put back due to pressing problems.

Yes - that is side 3!

Oh well - strengthens my claim for a replacement!

Thanks

unless that makes it a rare copy obviously, then that might make it worth keeping and giving to the grandkids.

Hi all

FYI, the supplier informs me that because of the rush to get these out for Christmas, a number of copies with 'deposits' on them got through quality control. I have been asked to play the album several times to see if the noise reduces or disappears before deciding whether to return it.

On close inspection and with the light in the right direction I can see what looks like the residue which would be left by drying tapwater (not that it is!).

Mould release? Marmite???

We shall see!

Mark

That could be why mine is OK as I cleaned it with RRL cleaning fluids before I played it as I do with all new albums to make sure that it has no mould release on it.

Is it a good album? Was thinking about buying it myself but have prefered her earlier work up until now.
