Default Forum Skins

Hi Peter,

I see you've done some updating on the forum today. I prefer to read the forum with the 'Bulletin' skin. I select that as my personal default but after exiting and re-entered the forum, it always returns to 'Forum Default' which also is the 'World Designs' skin. I've tried with 'Silver Bullet' and that also won't stick so I always start with the Olive Green presentation. Now, it's a personal thing I know, but I'm not a great fan of Olive Green and would prefer my choice of the 'Bulletin' skin to open automatically as it did previously when I log in. I hope you can fix this.

Best wishes,

Greg

Hi Greg,

Sounds like your computer is up to its old tricks again!

1) Have you enabled cookies?
2) Have you remembered to click the "remember me" box when you log in? If you don't do this, the next time you log in the BB will be in glorious olive green! I've just logged out and that is what happened. Once logged in again - and clicked the "remember me" box, I was back to the favorite "Bulletin Skin".

Hope this helps!

John.

Hi John,

Thanks, however, the remember me tick was previously set to come in automatically after some attention from Peter. I've not had a problem for months before this latest upgrade to the site. I'm sure some tweaking will sort it.

Best wishes,

Greg

Hi John/Peter,

I've just rechecked. Cookies are enabled. Remember me tick is set as default. Problem still exists. I've changed nothing on my PC. The only change has been to the website.

Best wishes,

Greg

Hi Greg,

No it's not! You still have to click it! When you've done that it'll disappear and everything should work ok.

John.

Hi-i normally use the default setting (green).

i changed to the silver and if i log out (which i dont normally do) and then bring the site up again its green, but changes to silver when i enter my login details.

if you log out it kills some cookies !

i normally view using Mozilla as i find it an improvement over Internet explorer 6.

I still can't get it to work. When I enter the WD site, all is green skin as it was previously. Click 'forum', green 'remember me' tick is present as default. On log in previously, skin would go to my choice of 'Bulletin'. Now when I log in, skin remains green. Check my User CP options which shows 'Bulletin skin is selected even though skin actually displayed is 'World Designs' green To actually get skin to display bulletin blue I have to select another skin, change to that then go into user cp options again and reselect bulletin, save and the skin then does change to blue. If I log out and re-enter, I'm back at square one. Green skin even though cp user option says I'm on blue I've tried clicking remember me on and off but it makes no difference. As said, I've changed nothing on my PC. Forum has work fine and as expected for months. This problem only presented after changes to the website yesterday.

Best wishes,

Greg

I haven't updated the forum, I've only redesigned the World Designs website.

What you have is a cookie that hasn't gone away. Please follow these instructions.

Select the skin you want to use in User CP and save changes.
Log out of the Forum
In Internet Explorer choose Tools, Internet Options, Delete Cookies.
Log back into the Forum with the Remember Me box ticked and it should be OK.
