Help with HT voltage .
Another day , another problem ! .
I've just finished rebuilding one of the WAD 300 PSE monoblocks I recently bought . And I've got a problem , the 380 v supply to the rectifier is measuring around 760 v . All other voltages at the transformer are correct , and I've gone over the circuit numerous times and everything seems fine ( although there's no circuit between the transformer and rectifier ) . Can anyone offer any advice ? . Thanks , Phil . |

Re: Help with HT voltage .
According to the circuit i have (supplement 53 Oct 2000) the mains transformer is 395-0-395 so if you measured the voltage at the rectifier (pins 4 & 6) you would get 790v or so and the voltage out (pin 8) will be around half that figure (435v to be precise) and 350v after the choke, caps and resistors (point B).

Re: Help with HT voltage .
There is an interesting article in FAQ about different sorts of rectifiers and the relationship between input/output voltages and current.

Re: Help with HT voltage .
Thanks, Philip .
Yep , I measured at the pins and I was a little worried at getting such a high voltage . I can now pop some valves in tonight and see if she comes alive . Ta , Phil . |
