WD26t speaker (tweeter & xo) or alternatives

Hi All,
I'm a newbie and have just discovered & joined WD. I've been looking for a DIY speaker design that is right for me and after weeks of research I think the WD26t is the one. Unfortunately I can't afford the original tweeters or the Millennium and other £250 tweeters, so I need an alternative. Thinking of SEAS 29TFF Prestige, which is £45. Does anyone have any other suggestions in the £40 - £75 price range. Also, if anyone has used the 29TFF tweeter or alternative in their build, could you help me with the crossover please.
In fact, if anyone can advise, give their opinions and suggestions I would be very grateful. On their sound too. Also, I'd like to buy a SET amp with only 6w/ch. Would the WDts be sensitive enough? I noticed the driver has an spl of 89dB (8ohm) - my current old Tannoys are 89dB and have a reasonable loudness (in my smallish room) from my 2 watt valve headphone amp. So I think the WDts would be a match. I also have other SS amps, I'd just like to have a better SET amp.

Hi Ade and welcome. I can't remember the WD26t speakers but there were a lot over the years and I may have missed it. I see you've posted in the WD25T thread as well so please check which speaker you want and if WD26t is a typo let us know and I'll correct your post here.

Richard, I think it may have been a floor stander with two drivers of the same size but, the top one was a duel concentric, I did see these at Peters place before he sold to you know who . Bob

Thanks Bob but if it was a dual concentric how could the tweeter be changed?

The dual concentric plus bass woofer design came late in Peter’s reign and was called WD20T. I’m not aware of any WD26T speaker model.

My mistake
It's the WD25t speaker I'm looking to make. Got mixed up with the A26 speaker it was based on. I've written to Matthew and ordered the WD CD-ROM. Hopefully it'll have the xo design I'm looking for. However, I'm not sure that Peter ever built a version with the Seas 27TDFC (H1189) tweeter. So if anyone has used that particular tweeter (or any another under £100) please get in touch.

The WD25T was never designed by Peter for use with Seas 27TDFC tweeter. As explained in the other thread you have contributed to, the standard version used Seas 29TFF/W H/318-06, currently available from Falcon Acoustics (Seas U.K. main agent) for £44.76 each. See link.

Thanks everyone who's replied to this thread. I REALLY do appreciate your comments. I look forward to receiving my CD-ROM and building these speakers. I'm still interested in anyone's own experience with their build of this speaker, maybe some of you have opinions about the sound or tuning. . The original idea was to build them with cheaper tweeters then upgrade later when I had more money. I want a pair of speakers that I'll be happy with for the rest of my life. I may just take out a small loan and go for the EX version with the Millennium tweeters, as Peter said this was the best version.

Nothing has been bought yet (apart from the CD-ROM), so if anyone has any other suggestions for speaker builds - please contact me. Basically I looking for a small floorstander (approx 1metre high) preferably 2-way to keep the costs down with a 8" - 10" woofer, decent frequency response and bass extension (at least as low as 40 - 45 HZ) that costs under £1000.
