private message notification

The email notification of a private message doesn't seem to be working at the moment.....at least not for me anyway.....
I received some pms yesterday but no email notification....I also checked my spam folder just to be sure.

Hi-have you checked your settings in user CP ?

you can enable the e-mail reminder and the pop up reminder on the forum,which i find useful.

see "edit options"

Obviously the option is ticked...there's no other way of knowing that the service exists.

Hi Ed-i realised that was probably the case but some of the other forum members may not of been aware of it.

Strange how some of these "problems" only affect a few of us.

I've checked and your e-mailbox is returning errors 'Sorry I've given up as it's taken too long in the queue'.

Either your mailbox is full or not readily available to the system for some reason. Check with your hosting account.

thanks for looking. Any chance you could be a bit more specific re e-mail box etc or perhaps let me have the full message. I will need to sort out whether it's my domain host or my ISP.

my ISP email is always empty as I use 'delete on transfer' setting and my domain host forwards instantly so its a bit of a mystery. Also never had any email comms problems before.

I have e-mailed you a copy of the Mailer Daemon failure notice.

Mind you I can only send it to the e-mail address that you have registered with the forum, no I've no means of knowing whether it will get through!

thanks for the effort.....but

No sign of the email so far...I reckon 4 days is long enough to assume its not coming.

Another member has reported problems using the mail forward from the forum and has resorted to mailing me directly.....

I think its not worth wasting time on so I will drop the investigation. Direct mail comes through to me ok so I'm not missing anything.

I hads the same problem this week end.. sent an email via wd and it did not get there..
