I know that I have posted before Martin with regards to Stax but it is obvious that you have not had a listen to them , the MF X-CANS are very good but I say again, get a demo of Stax kit, it is out of this world . Bob

Ha ha as you say Bob yes very good but not for me at the moment so it痴 a valve driven HA that doesn稚 cost the best part of a second hand car.

But thanks for the info Stax have been in the future for some time but getting to the age now to decide whether I値l get the wear out of them

Think I値l go for the darkvoice given that I知 nor best pleased with the bottlehead layout

All the best

Martin

Lol lol well after weeks of waiting I almost decided on the darkvoice and was looking for the mods when a WD 83 pops up on eBay
Oh hum spoilt for choice

However I notice it’s an old style square cornered case with the newer style round cornered front plate, so maybe needs checking

hello all,, the experts will tell us, but my understanding is both amps are the
same .. but as you point out why change the front (crash damage ?)

Thanks Greg, take it that the circuit is the same, no improvements or changes. Just looks a bit odd with miss matched front.

I realise the latest version has the switchable impedance matching rather then the hard wired system in the older version

Thanks

And I think the case size is different, the WD is bigger. Bob

Just had a look, seams a bit of a bodge job to me and as far as my knowledge goes, WAD never used that size of case and they had a black front. Bob
