Re: ReWire Litz
Greg's lovely old piece of Mahogany, teak oiled up!
Mayware arm, cleaned up and re-wired with Litz copper. Thanks to Greg, Simon and Gerry for offers of help and that artickle. I didn't do much of it the way the artickle said but ..... 103 - because we all know how it can sound WOW! Lovely dynamics, clarity etc and I have really started to tidy up and tweeeek. strongly recommended to any, even the weak hearted. play on Ludwig Van, play on ... |

Re: ReWire Litz
Andrew
Looks really good. Have you tried sliding the weight all the way forward towards the headshell to increase the mass of the arm....also put the counter weight further away from the pivot which increases the eff. mass. Helps the 103 no end. Regards

Re: ReWire Litz
I'm using the sliding weight as the accuracy weight for 2.4gms. The counterweight is about 2/3 from the pivot.

Re: ReWire Litz
Hi Andrew
Greg's scruffy old bit of mahogany has come up very well with a bit of TLC. I have a rewired Roksan Nima unipivot arm doing nothing if you want a go with that. They work extremely well with Denon DL103s. Give us a PM if you want to try it out. Steve.

Re: ReWire Litz
Cripes! I'm sure most of us would admit that we all talk 'bollocks' evry now and again; hyperbole, bombast and fustion but ....
This morning Elgar's 'The Kingdom' turned up so I gave it a spin. Such bass (from where there ought to be bass) !!! clarity and everything WOW - threefold. The Mayware may or maybe a superb tonearm. It was in such a sorry state when I got it, I couldn't try it. But now with the Litz, a spit and polish and set up reasonably on the 401 and a 103. WOW - fourfold. And it is the bass that gets me everytime - lovely voices too. Oh, I do like all this record player stuff. And what am I playing the stuff thorugh, you may ask? My favourite ESS monitors with the famous Heil Grand Master ribbons (so not the stupendously wonderful ESS AMTs from Witham) and ... an Inca Tech Claymore mk2(with MC input) Cripes! mini-heresy but so easy to use. For solid state the Inca Tech really is a marvellous amp. back to the music !! |

Hi Andrew
