Default Northern 2006 Sound & Vision Show

Anyone thinking of going again this year? I noticed that HFW will be there this time. It was a fun day out last year, if only because we all went home feeling rather good about our DIY kit :-).

BTW, can anyome explain how this months HFW subscription offer works?

Radisson Hotel, Manchester Airport. 28th-29th January

I was also thinking of going along...I haven't been to one of these things for ages and it's quite close to me.

I also couldn't quite understand the subscription offer. Do we have to get a subscription at the event or before I wonder?

Tony

It appears you can download a ticket and get the privilege price on the door for the days (I may be wrong), also noticed that the hi fi collective will be there to, bit too far for me and a shame neither is going to Heathrow

A friend and I went to that one in 2003, and it was very poor IMO. We were only there about 2 or 3 hours, and I vowed never to go to another hi-fi show again a month later after the 2003 Bristol show, because 75% of them are plasma displays, DVD players, projectors and 5.1 stuff. I think the name of these shows say it all. Sound & Vision, with the emphasis on vision, and the sound bit taking a back seat. I have not been to one of these shows for 3 years. I might go to Bristol again this year, just to see what I'm not missing. Then again, I probably won't, after hearing some of the kit touted as hi-fi these days. It was more like aural torture I'm afraid.

I understood that we have to subscribe at the event. It's a shame really - I can't make it to either the Manchester or Bristol shows, but would happlily subscribe if I could take advantage of the DT231 offer.

I would subscribe to HIFI world for the DT231's as well.

I can't make it to any of the shows because I live in the north east of Scotland......

I would like to see HIFI world offer something like this subs offer to all it's readers. However, when I last raised the issue, both by letter, and by the old BB forum, I got no reply.

Nada, nothing nil comment, zipp..........

So once again, HIFI world........

Please, please, please.....Give me a subscription offer that will tempt me......

How about something like this.........

Subscribe now, for twelve months and you can get a pair of DT231's for ten quid..........

I would subscribe to this offer without hesitation........

Again I dont expect anyone at HIFI world will ever have such a sensible idea as this......
