Default Outdoor aerial at last

I have finally got my Troughline working from an proper roof aerial (at last I have my own place after 20 years of renting). When I phoned the local aerial bloke he said "I have not fitted one of those for years". He also said a 2 element would be fine as I am in a good signal area but I insisted on a 3 element and I am glad I did. Even with the 3 element I only just get full "closure" on the EM84 but it really does sound much better than it ever has before. Even though I had no obvious hiss before, even in stereo, it just sounds so much more solid and transparent now with loads of low level detail on a live Radio 3 concert the other day.
I have read many times that an outdoor aerial makes all the difference and now I know it is true (not that I ever really doubted it).

Regards, Phil.

Hi Phil,
Well done, you cannot beat a good aerial system, and Leak Troughlines really need one to drive them into full quieting.

That actually is now wait and see. The government has stalled it's plans to turn off FM for the time being. There is a growing recognition that DAB is not the system to progress and multiply use of the airwaves.

If anyone is interested, I have an almost new six element Antiferance FM aerial, sadly I live in a valley and reception is poor to say the least. Free to anyone, collection would be best, but I may be able to post, at your cost, just to remind you all, I am going into hospital for a brain replacement, sorry, I ment a KNEE replacement, on Sep. 3. Good luck with the knee Bob.
A friend of mine is recovering from his second knee op at the moment, he had the other leg done last year. Although not fully up to speed yet, he is very happy as he can now take a short walk without needing pain killers.

Phil.
