WD88XL Amp
Its been 2+ years since I built mine and it has been used just about every day, often for 12 hours at a time and has had only one problem, the input selector switch became a bit intermittant, causing relay chatter. Removed, cleaned, refitted, no more problem. Time now for a new set of output valves. Valve line up is now Svetlana 6550C, a Mullard ECC83 and a pair of Mullard E182CC's
Everthing back on song. I did check all voltages and everthing was fine. Tme to settle back and enjoy this terrific amp

The WAD stuff is good isn't it? I've got on loan a 5881 PP,which as far as I can see is totally standard,which means the whole amp is about 20 years old,or nearly.It works perfectly.Sounds very good indeed,maybe even better than a KEL.

As far as I know my Kel 34 is still going strong too....
All it has ever had done is a change of coupling caps and the grid resistor rustle sorted .....
