duff cartridge
Moving Coil Audio Technica OC 5 about 10 years old used infrequently.
Fired it up today and only one channel worked. Fault found with a multimeter. Pins red and green (left?) have a resistance of 12 Ohms, where as it is infinite for other permutations. So is it screwed, dust or muck in the coil perhaps? |

Re: duff cartridge
if the blue and white pins are open circuit its U/S.
a word of warning though................. it's not a good idea to use a DVM on a MC cartridge windings as the wire is so thin you can melt the strands. I wouldnt have done that myself. A. |
