Listen carefully!
According to today's Scotsman, a 1km asteroid will roar past the earth today. No point screaming as we all know the little green men won't hear you in space.
Shh, I think I can hear it coming. |

Re: Listen carefully!
That is a difficult one Bob, the sun being at the centre of our solar system is also moving around our Galaxy the Milky Way, (just love chocolate) so periodically this will bring us into the path of other moving bodies where the earth could be hit repeatedly for days, months or years, this could be over a period of many thousands of years, a cycle that has been happening for millions of years. It must have been a bad day for the dinosaurs the last time it happened.
It is the speed that the objects impact on the earth that causes the problem, a bullet the size of a mountain not good. Chris. |
