Default World Designs WDHD3 headphone amplifier **SOLD**

I purchased this WDHD3S ages ago from the original builder of it (from a WD kit) and it has sat idle ever since.

It had a noticeable background hum through the connected headphones when I got it, with whatever headphones I tried it with and on whichever setting adjustments were made using the internal dip switches. I had intended on getting it looked at at some point - diagnosis and repairs of this type are beyond my current skills, unfortunately -, though never did, and it has sat on a shelf in my spare room ever since. I am clearing out unused kit now due to needing the room and must admit to not really needing this.

The WDHD3 is in nice cosmetic condition as I hope the pitctures show, front is very clean with just a couple of light/thin faint scuffs on the volume knob. There are a couple of small scuff/scratches to the black casing, one on the top and one on the left side, both are clearly shown in the photos below. I'm not really sure what to make of the internals soldering looks clean on the board but there is what looks to me to be unusual use of clear (silicone?) glue of some sort on the wiring near the power socket, and the wiring from the transformers looks a little untidy although functional. I have included a number of internal and external photos so you can see what it all looks like - who knows, a more expert eye might even be able to diagnose the cause of the hum? I have a couple of sheets of paper relating to the transformers and DIP switch settings, plus the original CD ROM of the build instructions which came with the amp, and these are obviously included to assist with getting it fully working. I am not sure exactly what to ask on this given its only part working state, though hope that £150.00 (plus postage, if needed) isn't too far out. I am near Lowestoft in Suffolk in case anyone wants to view or collect in person. Here are the pictures I can post, I think I am limited to 4 but will try to post more in furhter posts. I'm happy to email them to interested parties if I can't add them separately:
