Default Recommendation

I've recommended the latest Christine Collister album previously but thought some of you might like to know that it is now available on vinyl.

Hi Ray,

You've got me interested - being on LP helps, but that's another story :-)

I've got a couple of CDs of Clive Gregson and Christine Collister (A Change in the Weather and Love is s Strange Hotel) from 89 and 90. Is there much similarity 17 years on? I like the old stuff, maybe her new material is even better.

Cheers,

Clive

Which reminds me, must book my tickets for Christine at the Mill, Banbury.
I saw her twice last year, as part of Part on The Lawn at Bishopstone, and with Richard Thompson at Cropredy.
After she split with Clive Gregson I saw her and was not particularly impressed, but last years gigs were very good.

She's out a lot this year, see http://www.christinecollister.com/gigs.htm

Regards Richard Higgins

Clive, I've only recently discovered her so can't comment very authoritively on the early stuff as I've not got to all of it yet. What I do know is that the gig (autumn of last year) and the CD of the latest album were/are excellent.

Oh, and the latest album is a set of cover versions.

The last record was recorded by Roy Gandy the MD of Rega.Hopefully he has captured a good sound and acoustic. I suspect that he has been a long time fan. The Rega cookbook from 1991 was nine album covers on the back two of which are "Gregson and Collester" albums. Some excellant receipies too!
My bit of Triva for the day.
