Default Bridge rectifier wiring

Hi-another newbie question.

ive just got a box of bits from Rapid for the 832 project and i cant see how the bridge rectifiers are wired up.

2 of the terminals are marked.1 as + and 1 as AC.

so is the other AC terminal the diagonally opposite one and - the remaining one ?

cant link to the rapid site.Rapid number 47-2798 or KBPC1506 15A 600v

Philip

2 will be DC the other 2 AC. Usually opp. each other. So the + will be DC the AC will be AC+ and diagonally opp. will be the negs.
Make sense??

I have had one of those bridges as well. The one marked AC, and the one diagonally oposite to that are from the TX, and the one diagonally from that is the -ve.

Its like bridges are often drawn, if that helps.

Check with a meter on diode test to make sure.

Hi Gerry/Nick

thanks for that information.

i had assumed that was how it was and you have both confirmed it for me.

The 832 will be on 3 bases, one for each channel and one for the power supply, mounted on a common wooden chassis, so now i have all the power supply parts i can get that part finished.

Hi Philip,

A small tip. Register on the RS website. Provided they also supply the part, you will then be able to access manufacturers specification sheets for individual components. These are often helpful to sort these sort of questions out. I'm not sure if Farnell does this as well.

Best wishes,

Greg
