Default World Designs Sponsors Libya Rally Entrants

We are very excited (because rallying is one of the last, really competitive, motor sports remaining!) to be sponsoring Team BWB in the latest Libya cross-country rally.

Currently the entrants are preparing to start the journey to Libya from Genoa. We'll post pictures of the team when we get them, but for the moment we've only got one of the back of the car with our ad proudly displayed!

Team BWB include drivers, father and son team, Simon and Matt Garnham who scored highly in their last rally - the TransSyberia - where they were leading in the final stage.

Those of you interested can catch up with progress at

www.tbwb.co.uk

everyone else just needs to know that we're spreading the word!

Who Are Team BWB?

Team BWB (TBWB) are a small, new race team, currently taking part in rally raid events. TBWB consists of two drivers and co-drivers - the father and son team of Simon and Matt Garnham. They try to work on the philosophy of full privateers for every rally, therefore don't travel with any mechanics, other vehicles etc.

Many big teams compete with several support 'chase' vehicles as well as large trucks to transport spares, tools and mechanics. So far, Team BWB has competed in one rally - The Transsyberia Rallye 2007 - a long rally raid starting at the Basilica on Red Square, finishing in Ulaan Baator which is the capital of Mongolia. After an astonishing 4 special stages, where they were leading up to the final stage, a small mistake put them 6th overall in the Rally. The next rally they will be participating in is the Libya Rally Raid 2008.

What is the Libya Rally Raid

This is a rally that officially starts with the scrutineering in Genova, Italy. There is then a ferry to Tunis in Tunisia and the vehicles (cars, motorbikes, quads and trucks) make their way into Libya where the competitive special stages will begin.

Then follows 10 days of special stages, some of which are circuits, some of which are point to point exercises through the Sahara desert with the sand dunes and rocks and everythign else they can throw at the team! Team BWB are competing as vehicle number 103 in this event.

If they manage to avoid turning it over on the Rally it may well become so!
