Default Orb - Non Suspended/ref.info for Greg et al

Hello Greg (fellow Bristolian),

The method I used for this set up is easy to try out and reversable. With every componant removed and going by Michell's book descriptions here's
how I did it.With the springs removed you then unscrew the three posts
from the secondary plinth. The primary plinth is not used.

I then use 3 x Michell med.(I think) tenderfeet, which fit under the chassis
where the round hole cut outs are - I kept the teflon rings in there.Carefully
line up the chassis with each tenderfeet so that each point fits into the
plinths cone feet top black screw heads.

I had to re-adjust the height of the motor a bit by placing a coaster under it
to bring it up to correct clearance.

Maybe this non suspended changes the voice a little, just perhaps the mid
range is somewhat cleaner, but does it do something odd - I don't think so.
I do have a fairly lean sound tone due mainly to the horns (Hedlunds) - they
don't go real low so I can't comment on whether this front end set up ******s up any low freqs.

Ciao,Mr.Natural

PS.
I'll send you photos or post them on site if needed.(You can see one cone
in the photo about the Denon 103).
