Default NEW 42 inch HDTV UPGRADE

Hi All
Well I have just upgraded my 40”inch Samsung Series 6 Full HD With a new LG 42LA620V LED HD 1080p 3D Smart TV

Well what can I say here Well HD broadcasting is very good clean images
The 3D is also excellent clean and detailed a lot of fun ducking and waving from images’ popping out into the room

The 2D to 3D upscale of all broadcast channels is Brilliant
But 2D up scaling to 3D standard and Blue ray DVDs is visually stunning 3D depth and liquid mirror imaging So all this with optical out running into my dac and system sound is very good too

The Smart apps mostly stuff I won’t use apart from maybe Netflix love film BBC iplayer
Anyway I can highly recommend this LG 42LA620V HDTV if you are planning an upgrade even if it’s just to play all your 2D ad Blue ray DVDs
Maybe we should start a new Audio visual section on the forum

Well this HDTV is brilliant at playing Back 2 D Blue ray in 3D mod makes my live concert stuff like Diana Krall and Sade etc look very real clean and sharp imagining a great experience and addition to my audio system stunning
I did think that wearing the Glasses for too long would affect my eyes but no in fact if you ware normal glasses you forget you are wearing the 3D glasses it’s just like wearing normal tinted or Polaroid sunglasses

Hi Col,

Sounds a beast of a TV and glad you're enjoying it! Ours is getting on a bit now so all info picked up along the way to replacing it is interesting. This was brought home to us this w/e when our DVD recorder packed up but I'll post about that in a new thread rather than distract from yours.

Today, the hottest day of the century on Planet Earth and my DVD recorder (toshiba) of which I was very fond has conked out. Now apart from televising the royal birth I can't think of anything else on telly worth catching (you know that it wasn't till the 1920s that the Home Secretary was no longer allowed to actually witness the birth of the future monarch just incase the baby was switched - really!) but I'd very much like my old Toshy back in the land of living for the odd film. Ah well ...

Well, being a Scotsman, maybe it doesn't mean too much to you and no doubt you are awaiting the time when Alex Salmond is crowned king of Scotland

This new child is destined to become the 70th monarch of our (at the moment) island nation, going back to 802AD. Having said that, our monarchs have come from all over the place being Wessex, Danish, Saxon, Norman, Plantagenet, Lancaster, York, Tudor, Stuart (where on earth did they come from) , Cromwell, Stuart (again), Hanover, Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and to date, Windsor.

Please don't be too negative. Some of us are quite fond of our monarchy

PS. Andrew, I hope you get your DVD Player sorted.

Arr, I get your point. All the problems of a 24hr news service when there actually is nothing to report. Yep, I also think that is ****.
