Default Cases

Sorry if this has been covered before.....

I am building two phono stages - got halfway through a Pre II and tried to get a case from WAD, they promised but never sent one. I am also building a phono pre to an old Conrad Johnson design (why does Noel Keywood dislike them so much?) and want to get a suitable housing for it. The cases WAD supplied previously for the KLPP were very nice - anyone know where I can get something similar? Or does anyone have one of the cases from a Pre II going spare?

Hi,

Not sure about WAD cases, but check out the following links for a variety of fairly nice cases for audio projects.

Glad to be of help . It took me a while to find these links and I know how hard it is to find decent cases so I thought the least I could do was share them.

Ewan

Gentleman,

I have just sent an email to enquire of prices for the last link and postage costs to the UK. I will report back if anyone is interested.

Hi Andrew,

Unfortunately I found most of these sites/cases after I'd spent several hours trying to track down such nice cases and had already opted for a fairly basic case from RS. Mind you if I ever want to upgrade/replace any of the cases for my DIY Hifi stuff I know where to look .

Regards,
Ewan

Paul,

Whilst your are in contact with them, might it be possible to ask for some engineering drawings of the various models? Seems sensible to ask so we know what we're up against trying to get our bits to fit. I'm happy to send e-mail, but if you've lready got a dialogue going then....

cheers,

-- Andrew

It would be good to know if the rear panels have any holes cut, eg for an IEC socket.

They look good and the same/similar as Nick Lucas uses for his prototype phono and passive pre.
