Hi all, it's good to be back! Many thanks to Matthew who has had his work cut out this past week to get the forum running again at very short notice

Basically, the old forum version could no longer be supported by the host company. It now looks the same but the new platform it sits on and the new hosting ISP means it will be stable for a good few years to come.

The WD Website address is the same,
http://www.world-designs.co.uk/

but the Forum address has changed to,
http://forum.world-designs.co.uk/

The link to the forum from the website has already been updated if you use that way in and, hopefully, the Google Bots will pay a visit and index us again for web searches!

Thanks for the explanation.

Would it be feasible to email everyone, as those who have just read the above are clearly not those who need told how to find the new address?

When my normal link failed, and "sensible" variations like http://www.world-designs.co.uk/forum/ failed for a week, I was resigned to the thought that the forum had suffered some permanent catastrophic accident or attack.

Yes good idea, I did try a mass email after posting the above, filtering it to members who'd been active the last 2 years and had made 2 posts, as a test.


The test email said it was fine but when I sent the real one it said sent but I never received mine. You also would have got it but it seems not. So I'll have another go


(The forum is linked from the website and we're hoping the Bots pick up on it also.)

I just tried again, limiting the number of emails at a time, and got an email sent successfully message, so we will wait and see...
