Default Chrome knobs

After a considerable absence (due to zero stock from WAD) we now have the front panel chrome knobs back on sale. See http://www.world-designs.co.uk/acata...ntrols_12.html

Please note that these suit a 6mm dia shaft to suit the current input selector switch and potentiometers. The older, blue, Alpha input switch supplied with many WAD kits may need the shaft sanding down slightly for this knob to fit. Similarly it is a tight fit on the Power switches - don't push the knob on or you may push the shaft out of the switch - we find it fits nicely if pushed gently onto the shaft with a twisting motion.

I recieved a pair of these in the post.
I didnt order them though.
Were they just sent because i bought the kit?
I wasnt expecting them, i just assumed the ally knobs were what its supplied with now.

Hi Graeme,

I'd take it as a quality attention to customer service. Knowing Peter, I'm not in the least bit surprised. I think he's that kind of guy.

I've not been put up to this. As it happens I have a spare set of chrome knobs left over from a previous build

Best wishes,

Greg

when I spoke with Nick at the time I ordered the Kel84 kit (a couple of weeks ago) , he said that the chrome knobs were 'due next week' from the supplier and if I wanted I could have a pair of aluminium ones in the meantime until the chrome ones arrived. I decided not to bother with the aluminium ones choosing instead to do without until the chrome ones arrived, (which they did on Friday)

so yes, the chrome ones are supposed to be with the kit and the aluminium ones are a stopgap.

However, the weight on the control switches feels nicer and gives a sense of quality.
