Default AE transformers

can I pick your collective brains,
I built my Loftin White using Hammond 1627 o/p txs, this was all well and good and I was quite happy until I heard Andrew Ivimey's AE silver amorphs yesterday,
I can't afford the silver but the question is would AE C cores be an improvement on the Hammonds or would I be better going for AE copper amorphous

I can't comment, on how good or not the hammonds are, but the AE C-Core I have is good, but the amorphous is better. Depends on cost I guess.
