Default Eggfeast 5

Hoping to arrange another meet early june

i checked with eggborough a couple of weeks ago they had the first 2 weekends free, I also have found another venue about 7 mile south of eggbrough at owston park lodge, there is just one room, its slightly smaller than the large one at eggy, but there is a low ceiling, fully carpeted and with no fixed seating to get in the way..its a much better room.. but theres only the one room... prices would work out aroud the same as last time .. but with,i would say, better food...

what do you all think...
there was requests also for it to be on a sunday... that can be arranged if the majorty want that...

so... i will need to check rooms are still available when we get some agreement... but what do you all think?

please post your views... and if you plan to attend..

thanks steve

I'll put in a tentative yes, depending on workload!

Count me in Steve.

I attended a couple of conferences at Owston Park Lodge when I was an Assistant Head Teacher. Nice venue.
I like the two room set-up at Eggborough too though.
Decisions, decisions.

Steve

We had a lot of fun further south in one room that was good; witham.

It was two days for the lucky few who were able to do both days. But I suppose it depends on numbers.

I will go with the flow and am happy to do either.

all power to your elbow steve,

I'm in Steve, probably just one day though (the Saturday). One room is not a big problem, at least then you don't end up missing something by being in the wrong place at the wrong time!

Thanks for going to so much trouble once again!

Cheers,
Tony

Happy to go with the flow again.

For me the two rooms at Eb are good, but I missed a lot by staying in the big one, and in reality, the big room was a hard place for the amps and speakers, I know my OB's came away giving a very different sound tro what I have at home just because of the tendancy to play louder.

I agree with Andrew, the smaller room at Whitham was great fun, and very instructive, but I think would have been a problem if the originally intended numbers had arrived.

Hi Steve,

I like the idea of the new venue. The big hall at Eggborough hasn't allowed many systems to sing well which has been disappointing because owners know their kit can sound far better. There have been notable exceptions, yours included. Last time the small room had a clearly better sound. Carpet and lower ceiling has got to be a good compromise. I'm up for the new venue considering the indications on sound, cost, catering and what Steve has said. Also closer for me I don't mind Sat, Sun or both days but need a date I can work with. I'm back working shifts so may need to book time off.

Best wishes,

Greg

What he said....

Yes, I think Greg has nailed it. A slightly smaller room would be a benefit plus a date we can work with. Good on you for arranging it yet again!

PS: can we still call it an Eggfest if we move venue?

We'll never get the room "right", worth a try though. New venue for a change, jump back to eggborough after that if it's a flop.

My speakers sounded cr4p at home but great at Eggborough and cr4p again at Wittham strange, my html skills are failing, that should have shown up as a smiley.
