Default Wd25t

Please forgive me if this info is posted elsewhere. I would like to find out the physical size of the WD25T floorstander. I have seen the plans for the WD25A but nothing for the T.

John

Thank you petercom. I have come a little late to the WD25, but am very interested in the T version as I prefer floorstanders.

Any provision for a protective grill to cover the drive units and also increase WAF?

Quick question Peter if I may, out of sheer curiosity. What would happen if a second aperiodic vent were to be added in the lower section of the WD25T enclosure -a sort of double bass reflex layout but with aperiodic vents? I assume not a lot, or a peak or slump in the resonse somewhere?

Regards
Scott

I don't think it would work as you would get a double tuning effect and this doesn't help. The point of the lower chamber is to add to the air mass and compliance at lower frequencies, with the vent as a controlling resistance to provide the necessary damping.

Sorry to ask this again, but I can't be the only one where the 'wife' objects to speaker drive units staring her in the face and there is also a danger of the units beng damaged

I've ordered a pair, and i'm a little worried about one of our dogs corrosive slobber (sigourney weavers acid spitting friends would be proud) getting on those unprotected soft drivers!

I would like to know if anyone knows if it possible to get acoustic grille foam anymore.

Also, does the standard tweeter come with what looks like a grill, in the pictures?

It's a fairly easy DIY job to knock up a frame with some black acoustic cloth, if not I suppose.

I haven't found an easy solution to the grille problem yet. Making them in MDF in small quantities is really expensive, so much so that I don't think anyone would buy them! The acoustic open cell foam is the best grille, but you have to have a cut out on the rear for the drive units. To get this we need to order thousands - it's just not on.

So we are leaving it for people to make their own -sorry!

The treble unit does not have a grille. The picture was taken with an early sample, but we couldn't use this design for production.
