What was WAD?

WAD, or World Audio Designs, was set up by Hi-Fi World magazine to bring magazine sponsored projects to DIY Audiophiles. After a time, however, the number of projects running and the user queries thus created started interfering with the editorial drive of the magazine. It was then that WAD separated as a business from Hi-Fi World, though still linked through editorial control.
Unfortunately by the end of 2004 WAD had ground to a halt and, following a re-appraisal by the editor of Hi-Fi world, the new World Designs was born.
Part of WAD was the very active forum associated with the website which was populated by very knowledgeable users only too willing to lend a helping hand to new kit builders or those seeking information.
This part of the forum is therefore dedicated to continuing discussion of past WAD kits and we welcome posts on that basis.
