Default Transformer ratings

Hi-i have a couple of potted toroid mains transformers as used on KaT88 and KEL80 (195-0-195) and wondered if anyone knew the rating of the 3.15-0-3.15 winding.

These transformers are being used in my ECL82 power supply but i might be re-jigging it with a hybrid bridge to make a new version of the 300b amp to power the 845 (or possibly GM70 in the future ) power stage.

I need 6.3v @ 5 amp ideally

you may remember Philip that I have a couple of these too. Though I'm only using one on the Doddington Special. We bought them from Mike H, didn't we?

As they are for such a WAD beefy amp, I would bet my life on them being rated at at least 6amps - should be fine!

Yes, Kit88 heaters were rated at 9A and Kel80 7.5A.

Yes,we did ! They had been rescued from a skip after the WAD collapse !!

The power supply i had (or have ) chosen has a total 6.3v requirement of 9.6A but i will have to buy another 2 6.3v transformers for the two 6080 (@2.5A each) used in the PSU regulator

"Kit88 heaters were rated at 9A and Kel80 7.5A.

Thanks Rich, not sure which one they were but enough for plan B.

Re-reading the circuit diagram i had mistaken the 6080 as two valves instead of one valve with two sections so my total 6.3v requirement is "only" 7.1 Amps per channel.

But don't like "hot" transformers so might give the 6080/ECL82 their own separate supply.
