Default WAD older stereo PP 300B assembly manual

I am the proud new owner of an older style, transformer coupled, stereo PP 300B amplifier and I think this thing really sounds amazing! Unfortunately, the kit was assembled on a not so nice fabricated chassis. I would really appreciate if someone on this forum would have the assembly manual and schematic, it would help in transferring the parts to a new chassis.

Thanks for any help,

cheers,

Jean-Pierre

I also owned one of these power amps from 1996-1999 and I have to say, it was the finest sounding amplifier I have ever owned including various Naim pre/power combinations. My version of the 300B PP was built by WAD at their place in London and was delayed quite a while. When it arrived I was astounded by the things 'air' and 'space'. The biggest problem it has is that it hums like hell.

Hi Jean-Pierre,

Great amp, I use one! I've not got the instructions but have the diagram sheets and info article if they are of use, put them in a pdf here. Suggest you save them if of interest as they will disappear soon.

The hum's easily fixed, mine's as quiet as any amp I've owned, by re-routing the main earth wires in a star earth fashion as in this thread, http://wduk.worldomain.net/forum/sho...ghlight=300bpp

Yours may be built differently of course so post us if we can help.

Rich

Thumbs up Re: WAD older stereo PP 300B assembly manual

Hi Richard,

thanks very much for the very useful info, this is exactly what I needed! Also, really appreciate the info about the hum. Rebuilding and upgrading the amp will be a very nice, rewarding project.
