Makes hard work of something that should be at the front of any enthusiasts knowledge, if you can't picture every facet of ohms law don't start scrathc building until you can. You'll need to comit a whole lot more than that to memory to be safe. You need a map in your head of everything unless following an idiots guide that has been double blind tested.

The funny thing about e.g. ohms law is that when e.g. James patiently runs through a circuit with me, it all makes blinding sense.... for five minutes!! Reading Morgan Jones is like lying on a bed of nails.

These websites help a lot, and if my learning style is more auditory than visual (if you accept this idea) then I'd chuck in a teaspoon full of kinaesthetic as the odd electric shock concentrates the mind.

In the meantime I build amplifiers and right now I am on a roll. Gordon Rankin's designs are so lovely! Bugle was sweet. Baby Ongaku ( all silver and tantalum version) using 2A3s has me stunned; bloody loud too, I know it is my own heresy but I won't be going back to LW). Direct Coupled /Current Controlled 45SE, has had a solid state audiophile chum very worried indeed and, shall we say, is suffering from serious paradigm shift, ha ha! when 2 watts per ch. trounces 150watts per ch. ATC - REALLY!

Gordon Rankin's articles are very very, to the nth power, worthwhile.
The 6DN7 SEX amp article (from Bottlehead) also has such a lucid and informative write up that I have learned MUCH and enjoyed even more.
