restoring Audio innovations 400 mkII
Hi Guys, I have a question regarding restoring an Audio Innovations 400 MKII (EL84, ecc88 drivers; 3xecc83 phono and 1x82 gain stage for pre-amp).
The 4 EL84 tubes have heatercurrent (but only 5,7 volts, but they need slightly more). The others do not. How likely would it be assume the diode-bridge for 400v/2-3A is defect? This one supplies the phonoboard (2x ecc83), ecc83 cathode follower and the gainstage (ecc82) for pre-amp. The amplifier has a sensitive power-amp, thus not much gain is needed. The heater current for all the small tubes is defect as well. It is not neccesarily the tubes themselves, but there is no current at all? There is 225 Volts current on the transformator.... What should I check? Thanks for any info, Hans. |

suggest you replace all tubes and check resistors., a complete recap would not go amiss
