Default WD88VA photo

Does anyone have a good clear photo of a completed WD88VA? I want to try to convert the black chassis to white to see what it looks like.

Following on from that, what is the best freely available software to do this sort of thing, if indeed it's possible?

I'll take some high res ones when I've finnished if you're not in a hurry Shane.

You going for the '80's XR3i' look or summat?

Aaaagh! You've put me off the whole idea now! White socks, pork pie hats, nooooooo.....

No, the idea is to reduce it's visual bulk sitting on a white shelf against a cream wall. I'm also trying to appease the Ipod generation.

I know an easier way to make it blend into the room, paint the walls black and add chrome 'detailing'.

There ya go, job dun guv!

I've had a quick dabble in Photoshop to produce the attached. It's very rough and ready but it should give the idea. You'll have to use bright zinc plated screws instead of the black ones to hold various bits in place, like the tag boards, unless you don't mind the contrast to the white.

And you'll have to keep grubby mitts off it!

Maybe it could be done in stainless steel, as was done for some 300B PP clones? It's not white but it's goes with any decor.

Thanks for that, Peter. I reckon it looks pretty good. Hope it didn't tear you away from the drawing board for too long!

As for the screws, I have a tame supplier who will provide stainless socket-head cap screws, which should look ok.

I'd certainly take one around the local one-way system.
