Pre II Instructions

I Ordered 4 kits from WAD before christmass 2004 and received the said kits by Feb 2005, so good so far.

Have built the 6550 amp, power supply and Phono II and all are working well.

However last month I finaly got around to building the Pre Amp II, (my old Quad Pre amp having finaly decided to retire ).

Problem is a missing page in the instruction booklett

The missing page contains notes 12 to 14 of "wiring up the inputs " section.

Not being that confident in the build by just following the circuit, and layout diagrams, I would appreciate it if anyone could help by supplying the missing info. My email is smeltzer_ken@yahoo.co.uk or Phone 0289 0280 891 PLEASE .

I've just dug out my instructions and they are the same.

I think it's either just a typo and they've gotten the numbers out of sequence or points 12 - 14 were for an earlier version and have been taken out without putting the number sequence right.

If I remember rightly they removed some unnecessary components/wiring from the PCB and instructions to produce a revised instruction booklet.
Someone might be able to put me right here.

If you look at the PCB it says "version/issue 2" somewhere I think. But I can't confirm that without taking the lid off.

I built mine without points 12 - 14 and it worked straight away.
I never noticed they were missing until now.

yeah, mine were missing part ofthe instructions too,
IIRC, it's mostly just wiring the inputs to the selector switch, which should be straightforward enough, if a little time consuming...

Pre II built and working like a dream

A note for anyone else building this item:-

When wiring up the inputs to the Rotary selector follow the Locations on the pin diagram of the Selector switch on the same page as the circuit diagram because if you follow the pin diagram on the last page the Left and Right channels for Aux 3 become reversed.

sorry Adrian, it's just worked ok for me,
if you need it, go into the main WAD site and look up the PreII you can get to it on the right hand panel

The WAD site seems to have removed some useful info. The detailed instructions aren't there - merely diagrams
