Smile Wishing for Contact from Dave C, John C, or Richard SM

Hello Everyone,

I know everyone is busy, and I do not want to be rude or impatient, so I am asking you to have a look at your PM's and to look at my original message posted in Membersip Issues a couple of days ago.

They all deal with having someone contact me with a new address or link to the WD Gold DIY archive, which is unavailable online since the forum address has changed.

Thanks in advance for your help and consideration in this matter.

Regards,

Myles McDonald

Hi Myles,
Contact Dave Cawley (see forum leaders link on home page or the members list) as he will know about this.

Hi Dave and Richard,

Thanks for the reply. The CD and online access give you the same information. I chose the online access because updates to new projects would be automatically updated to the Gold database. The cost was 18 pounds per year. If I bought the CD, no updates could be added.

Now that we know what we are dealing with, do you think you will be able to get the online access set up????

Thanks for your help so far,

Myles

I'll look into it. But we have not taken on any of the liabilities of the old Arena owned World Designs.

It will take some considerable time, but I'll make sure you get a CD with 'all' the current files.

Regards

Dave

Hi Dave Cawley,

There may be a lot of CDs needed ...

I am in the same situation, as I am sure are others on the forum.

There probably are several people in the same situation as John and Myles. To look at this realistically, although not legal, it is likely that members who retain the original articles from the supplements and magazines will quietly scan and email to any interested party who they believe will be discrete. That is simply what happens today in a multi media sharing environment. To try and protect the ownership of the material in these circumstances is simply unrealistic albeit morally correct.

Unless you Dave, are intent on making some income (it'll be small) out of this, would it not make sense to simply make the files from the CD available on the website for free download? I don't know how much Peter passed onto you but I suspect the sale of the WD Gold Arcive CD or online service was probably not very lucrative for the company. As you have so much else that must be more important to do, this might be a worthwhile sacrifice.

Just my tu'penniworth

Regards,

Greg

Hi Greg

I think we need to know how many people are actually involved first? I'm not going to make money out of people who have already paid, on the other hand copyright is copyright, and I am the owner of it, and protective of it.

I'm not sure how I can find out who subscribed, and whose subscription is still current?

Regards

Dave
