Talking When is a Comma not a Comer or a Commer

You are getting better Colin, just one comer and a full stop and you could have won the jackpot . Bob

Greg, I did put two M's in and a red line came up underneath, so initiated the spell check and Bingo, one M, Hmm, spelling was never my strong point . Bob

Bob, you might find your spell checker is in American English.

More Likely the tail of the word is an ‘a’ and not ‘er’.

Here’s a guide,

comma – full stop with a tail on it like a tadpole used for a pause
comma oil – stuff you put in the engine
commer van – type of van often receiving said oil before leaking it out again
comer – person who arrives, often used with late as in late comer to the party
coma – physical condition after drinking too much at said party to catch up

It seems the irony I responded to has been missed by others.

I get the feeling when the subject of my dyslexic comes up it gets a few posts keeping you guys on your toes. I find this quite amusing you are all correcting each other .this post was done with the spellchecker in Word 2007 student version. of course, then I paste it into the forum then the red line attacks it again so I go with the red line and correct it that way
