Default *** The Art of Sound ***

Hi folks,

I would like to introduce The Art of Sound to the members of World Designs. It's a new audio and music forum which is aimed at enthusiasts who enjoy experimenting and tinkering with various types of equipment old and new. There are quite a few valve heads and fans of World Designs kit there, too - particularly in our D.I.Y section. However most have still got lots to learn about the world of valves, especially those who are changing over from various well-known solid state designs, so your learned input would be appreciated!

It's a professionally run dedicated audio and music forum. However we think we are different in terms of the direction we have taken and we certainly steer clear of the pointless circular arguments sometimes seen elsewhere on other forums. We would like to develop a relationship between both our forum and the long-standing and valued members of World Designs and to provide some mutual benefit for both. Your support therefore would very much be appreciated.

Anyway please click on the link below, have a look around, and if you want to register and join us then you are most welcome

I would like to express my thanks to Petercom for allowing me the opportunity to introduce our forum to you. Hopefully I'll see you there!

Kind regards,
Marco.

Hi Andrew.

BUMP is an Internet forum acronym for Bring Up My Post. It is normally used where the person posting the original message wants more people to see it again and so that it will appear in people's "todays posts" lists to get more viewings. Normally used in sale or wanted threads, or if the thread has gone quiet for a while.

HTH

Cheers

PS: Has someone hacked Greg's account? There have been about three or four threads, including this one, all with deleted posts by Greg, all at the same time, late last night. Odd.

I suspect Greg's trying to keep himself in check!

Why, Shane, what's his problem?

I have to admit, he does seem like a grumpy old git! :p

Far from it. Greg is a lovely bloke with interesting and profoundly held beliefs. He submit robust postings in a forthright manner, but always assumes they will be taken in the spirit in which they were offered. He is aware that sometimes people can be more sensitive than he expects, and you will occasionally see posts that have been withdrawn where I guess he has thought twice. I always find myself thinking that I'd like to have seen what he withdrew!

Yes I agree with the last bit!

But he seems to have a 'bee in his bonnet' as far as The Art of Sound is concerned. The problem with submitting "robust" postings is that you need to make sure they're written in such a way that people don't take offence - smileys help in that respect. However, each to his or her own.

Apparently, according to Greg, I've created too much "hype"

I guess it takes all sorts!

Marco.
