Default Twin Peaks

If there are any fellow fans of Twin Peaks out there (I fell in love with Sherilyn Fenn when it was first on... ;-) two pieces of good news. Firstly, if you haven't got the series 1 box set, Virgin have it in their sale at £14.99 at the moment, so there's no excuse not to.

Better yet: Season 2 is finally officially confirmed for release. Better (5 years) late than never. Region 1 DVD box set scheduled April 7th this year. We've got a little longer to wait apparantly -they haven't set an R2 date, but it's confirmed that it's coming. Aparantly, it's going to be split into two separate sets for us -normally that would drive me insane, but I'll make an exception for Twin Peaks as we've been waiting for this for half a decade & I'm just glad it's finally coming. Complete Twin Peaks Seasons 1 & 2 box set is slated for release later this year as well if you fancy it all together. Might not have all the extras though.

Hi Ed -enjoy. I was really surprised to find it so cheap. The transfer quality is superb, well worth every penny.

Ah twin peaks,

an absolute master piece.

If you won't a cheaper option it is available for dowload from btjunkie, both seasons 1 and 2 (illegal but free). It will probably include case artwork also. Burn it onto a disc and roberts your mothers brother.

Regards
Jim

It just started in a local telly again; first time since its first appearence I see it.
...In the last episode Leland Palmer killed Jacques Renault and the mill burned down...
I just love it! Its exactly as genious as I rembered.

BTW, found years ago its soundtrack in CD. Anyone else?
It's wonderful! And just great recording too.I think Angelo Badalamenti completely equals Ennio Morricones greatest achievements in his Twin Peaks- compositions.

Yep, initially had it on LP and now have the CD, it's a great listen. Never really did like the ending on the TV show though, a bit too much Twin Peaks meets Supernatural but I guess the writers had a hell of a time coming up with an ending. Anyone worked out what the ending to Lost is going to be? And why doesn't Hurly ever loose weight? Now that's a real mystery.......

Regards and wish I was in the UK for the show this weekend,

Hal

hI hal,

lost is also easly available on peer to peer such as btjunkie, i have just completed season 3 episode 9 download tonight.

I don't have a telly, just a lap top, a lcd screen, and shareware. If we want to watch something we download it, in a way it adds to the value of what we choose to watch.

Regards
Jim

I still maintain it was the greatest of all US TV shows. Seriously dark, yet it could have you howling with laughter. And the soundtrack was stunning. Beyond sensational. I've had it for years on CD -one of the best-recorded disks I've ever heard & that music really did feel an integral part to the proceedings, particularly the side-jokes contained in it. Favourite example: Episode One. Cooper is sitting at a table completing his breakfast order. 'I'll have the grapefruit juice, as long as...' [here he sees Audrey sashaying toward him in her rip-your-heart-out routine, wearing a decidedly tight blouse, swallows, and finishes with a glazed look at her] '..those grapefruits are freshly squeezed.' Just to get the last drop of irony out of the situation, the backing track is named 'Freshly Squeezed.'

'It just started in a local telly again; first time since its first appearence I see it.'

Good grief -never thought it would ever appear on TV again. Whereabouts are you, if you don't mind my asking?

Oh lord! Now that's something... couldn't never have thought it could have been available on LP. Hey, how much are you asking of it?

Scottmoose: I feel like I could pretty freely to declare in the publicity that I am located "overseas", if you dont mind.

Used the soundtrack CD this morning before opening at the Bristol show to gauge the effect of some changes we made to the system. It worked very well. As Scott says, a great recording even if the music is a little simplistic (my view )

Best wishes,

Greg
