Default Frank Zappa

Just interested to see what the members of this forum rate as the best Zappa / Mothers albums. To be honest I am finding it is all very mood dependent and my own views are very changeable. However I think I'll make a start with Chunga's Revenge and The Yellow Shark.

Joe's Garage Acts 1, 2 and 3

If anyone picks "Jazz from Hell" I'll be more than a little surprised.

Includes some great compositions, unfortunately ruined by being played on the Synclavier. Try listening to G-Spot Tornado on this and on Yellow Shark. No contest.

I'm a sucker for Apostrophe' and You are what you is.
Yellow shark is good but not one I play particularly often. I'm fortunate/sad that I have all the Ryko CDs in my collection. I think the only official one I don't have is Civilization Phase III.

I can't really say which. In the days when everyone had Zappa - no one was in a fit state to say Jack merde - and you all know what I mean.

he died young at heart.
