Phono 2 Relay Switch Board

Finished yesterday fitting the new relay switch board to a pre 2. Quite a tricky mod to do as it involves complete rewiring of inputs and ingenuity as to where to put the board as it cannot go directly behind the inputs on the rear panel. Worked first time around (once I had swapped the pos/neg to the heater supply!) and listening since reveals a superb improvement all round to the sound quality, more pace, greater impact, detail and separation. There are a couple of things I need to look at further as I have noticable hum with cd and virtually nothing with phono, tuner etc and a hiss with phono if the volume is turned to maximum without a signal, both I hope I can rectify at the weekend. Overall it is certainly a very worthwhile modification for £30.

Hi Chris
If you got the supply to the board the wrong way around you may have damaged the diodes across the relay coils, just check they are not short circuit.
Hum on CD with it connected or not? check your earth connections.
Hiss on Phono with it connected or not? This is not clear from your post it just says no signal.
