Hi Colin

Thanks for the link, some interesting music on there. Great that you are allowed to sample the tunes first. Nice to see Dr John is still around. If you can hear him playing live, he will simply blow you away with the sound that is created. New Orleans blues at its best

Not sure if it's quite what you are looking for but check out Diana Krall...she's a babe...has a sexy voice and is a good pianist...some of her stuff is on vinyl too......... Her stuff is for playing in the evening.........nice.......

Rich.

Hi Hardy

Thanks for the suggestion. I have her album "From this moment on". You are right when you say this is for night time listening. Amazing sound. My music collection is now outgrowing the space in which it is kept. (time for a clear out i think. What to keep and what has to go- could take days! )

Nikki,
a friend sent me a Diana Kroll CD - Live in Paris. This is a knockout piece of work. It is superbly recorded and I was'nt aware that I was listening to CD. In fact I have seldom heard a CD sound this good.

This is Jazz as I like it, straight-a-head with a couple of 'cool jazz' numbers as well. What I really liked and admired was the way she stood back and let the musicians strut their stuff - buy and enjoy - or get a friend to send it to you.

I believe these are all analogue mastered and they keep the recording very well done throughout the mastering - CD or Vinyl...

The Vinyl version of "From this moment on" is unbelievable....

Hi Rich

I can't agree more !

Music recommendation - anything by Antonio Forcione - a true virtuoso of the guitar, and not at all precious about it - I've seen him perform live a couple of times, and he does NOT disappoint !

Chris
