Hi Peter,

Apologies for being a pain....so is these 'black bits', are they the Ron's recommended changes for 206 - 208 upgrade?

Seems simple enough, if that's all I need to add.

thanks,

-- Andrew

No need for apologies.
Yes, they dont look like much but make a big difference with the 208.

OK, thanks again, next question, what's was your thinking behind the choice of super tweeter, rather than, say a Fostex?

PS what about dowel joints? Should be plenty of room if 18mm ply were used?

thanks,

Biscuits are probably easier to use and stronger, allow more room for manoeuvre, but on the downside, you would have to buy a bag of them and either buy, borrow or hire a biscuit joint cutter, unless you have a router. It is possible to biscuit joint with a router, but a lot easier, quicker and more accurate with a proper biscuit jointer.

Cheers,

Yes, I was thinking biscuits might also be a good way to go. But I can't visualize how you go about cutting them on the flats of the panels using a router, the bit would be 90 deg out, in wrong plane. The edges I fine with....

cheers,

I've been looking at tweaters, seems the Fountek ribbon ones have a good following. I found a CD3? Is that the follow-on, or the big brother, to the one you used Pete?

thanks again,

-- Andrew

Well I hung out on the Full Range Driver Forum a bit and the designer of Dallas posted that he will be doing a 8" design for the Austin speaker range. Apparently, the Austin is a more advanced design, so it may well be worth waiting and see. I shall keepo an eye on proceedings and see what happens.

thanks to all those who responded,

-- Andrew
