HT voltage on Pre3

Hi-i have a "full" set of series 3 (Pre,Psu & Phono) and the HT is set to power both Pre & Phono.

I see in the instructions for the Psu that if one is only powering a single module the HT can be reduced by using a resistor.

Now the question !

If i disconnect my Phono power lead during extensive CD listening sessions (to save "wearing out" the valves) will the slight increase in HT voltage be a problem for Pre3.

OR,given the life of small signal valves,should i worry about them ?

Completely OT. How did your racing go today and did the Triumph/Metisse perform well?

Hi Greg-we got to the track at Marks Tey about 8.30 and due to the weather conditions they had cancelled the meeting !!

One reason given was that the Ambulances would have had great difficulty getting in and out (cant race without them) so i was spared the enjoyment of getting soaking wet and plastered in mud.

So i came home and watched the first F-1 grand prix that i had videoed earlier.

Bit of an anti-climax (can one say climax !) to the day really.

Next one is 13th April at the same track.

Hi-tis bikes,you fool !

Some time ago i did have a Chevrolet Ambulance with a 6.5 GM V-8 diesel engine and auto + overdrive gearbox.

Wouldn't have minded racing that !!!
