Default Re: 300B PSE battery bias

Hi Martin
Have a good time in Moscow - I'll post this follow-up now or else I'll forget...
What I meant was, in the WAD 300B PSE, Andy Grove used the ECC82 as a cathode follower driver for the output valves. This has two advantages - low impedance to drive the miller capacitance of the output valve, and an easy high impedance load for the gain stage.
Morgan Jones uses 6sn7 cathode followers as drivers in his Crystal Palace amp, and Andy Grove has used 5687 cathode followers to drive 300Bs in a subsequent amp. In the WAD amps, 5687 is an easier mod (same socket)
What current are you running through the 6sn7?

Hi Martin,

Really pleased you like the CF mod to Pre II. It really works, doesn't it?

Best wishes,

Greg
