QUAD II monoblock refurb
I'm thinking of having my QUAD II mono blocks repainted, ideally in original gunmetal finish or something similar. They've been mildly tweaked in the past and I've attached a pic of the internals. Can anyone recommend someone who can not only tidy up the outside, but also replace any caps or resistors etc that are due a service ?
I don't want to go fully race tuned and change the whole soul of the amps, just give them some tlc. Happy for a forum member to work on them. Thanks Jonny |

Re: QUAD II monoblock refurb
Sadly, my "reworked" Quad 11 amps just don't cut the mustard compared with all my home built amps.
If you make them "un-original" (ie repainting them) it could make them less valuable to collectors.

Re: QUAD II monoblock refurb
Don't know where you are, and don't know what your budget is but you might try Classique Sounds in leicester. Paul the proprietor is well versed in vintage quad and Leak amps and might be able to assist.
Also try the Quad yahoo group, there'll be someone there who will know where/how. |
